Yeah, a lot of japanese drpgs don't have a cleric. A lot of them do. It just depends. Clerics in japanese video game rpgs tend to be more on the white mage side rather than a proper D&D Cleric, who can tank despite not being a martial class. Japanese white mages are fragile as shit.

Suikoden 1 and 2 are old and worth playing. Suikoden 3 is pretty player-unfriendly and full of mandatory backtracking.

Don't bother with Eiyuden. It runs like shit from all accounts and sucks compared to Suikoden.
