Re: Movie Thread
I watched Apocalypse Now: Final Cut. Have never seen any other version of the film, so I can't really compare the changes(though I assume the French plantation stuff is new, since it had very little to do with anything else). I was very impressed with the film, particularly with Martin Sheen. I'd ne...

Isn't Doge even on speaking terms with some people at least associated with stuff he reviewed? I think Tommy Wiseau shut down his Room 'review' for a while until they settled it somehow (amiably even?) and then he had Mara Wilson on for a review of some film she's acted in ("Matilda" iirc). You have to learn the deep 5-year lore of the Contest of Champions first, though.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:07 amBoy, do I have a "talented" comic book reviewer for you, then. He also does Power Rangers (though without a set schedule).

Re: Movie Thread
Probably because the flashbacks are still based on the original novel, while the rest was written by Mario Puzzo specifically for the movies, so they don't feel out of place (ironically, since they're flashbacks ). Ah, that makes sense. The flashbacks just plain fit better with the feel of the firs...

Spent the weekend marathoning the Godfather movies. Basic thoughts: the first one was very good, 2 & 3 not so much. Both of them came across like belated epilogues that merely serve to tell the audience "yeah, becoming a mafia boss bites you in the ass". There's some interesting stuff in Part II abo...

Kubrick's The Shining 2? It's set in the same continuity as Kubrick's film. They get a Jack Nicholson lookalike to show up for five minutes. But the director also had to make Stephen King happy, so there's elements of the original book used, like Jack yelling "will you take your medicine, pup?!" an...

Re: Movie Thread
It tries to be Stephen King's The Shining, Stanley Kubrick's The Shining 2 and Doctor Sleep all at once.
An interesting movie, but not one to rewatch.

Why aren't you fools watching classic sci-fi shows?
