He should do this for every movie, it's infinitely preferable to his normal style.
The style reminds me of some of the editorials he made in the past, except the subject matter is less annoying (the editorials were him trying to answer some loaded question like "Does Romeo and Juliet suck?").

You may not like "le angry reviewer" but it seems they've been replaced with a bunch of stupid zoomers talking in a nasal whiny voice about old Simpsons episodes and other garbage media that was aired long before they were even born in a super pretentious 'analytical' way as if it were pieces of classical art.
Not sure what's worse.
At least angry reviewers weren't forcing their political opinions down the audience's throats like video essayists do. Video Essayists make their videos ridiculously long even when it's about drama like Lindsay's 1 1/2 hr Magmum Opus Mask Off.

The new shit is worse. This is by no means a defense of the "le angry reviewer" junk, mind you. I simply find it marginally less morally enraging than people who read a couple TV Tropes pages and Wiki synopses, then think they totally deserve cash money dollars for having an opinion on Ninja Turtles.

There are a few decent "video essayists", but those are usually good only when they go into background of the show/movie/game, and not analyzing the content.

It's like a downgrade of historicans. But also, it's not good to be restricted with stuff that's from your lifetime. Hats Off Entertainment talks about a bunch of "boomer" media like the Three Stooges or Nation Lampoon even though he's like twenty five years old. Although he falls in-between talking about the contents of the media and the background behind it.

Alright, them talking about stuff from before their time is admittedly not the issue. It's more that they don't do any research and as stated before just read from Wikipedia where information is often phenomenally inaccurate, to put it generously.
It's a trap!

The issue is when you apply your current year special snowflake morality and get offended about "problematic" content.

That seems to have been Lindsay Ellis's shtick almost since the beginning. I still remember how intellectually dishonest she was when she reviewed the banned Looney Toons short Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs.
