Right now he's in the "Smug Artiste" cycle. You can tell by him once again humble-bragging about resisting the temptations of making quick YT bucks by selling his soul and artistic integrity

It's all part of the same cycle of coping and seething. Sadpost because no views, then cope because you have "artistic integrity", then seethe over cherrypick comments from people who say they want BMB, then sadpost because no views.

Most of the "how to improve your videos and get more views" vids out there aren't telling you to sell out or make the most stereotypical Mr Beast clickbait. They usually encourage you to experiment and find your niche and build that out. That shows more "artistic integrity" than spinning your wheels doing something that hasn't worked in years.

The Holdovers was alright I guess. Pretending 2023 cinema was """amazing""" is hardcore cope, ignoring all the record flops throughout. This year looks to be even worse, so I wonder how dear old Matty will spin it then.

Ignoring the flops would be okay, if there were lots of good movies. That isn't the case. At least not in cinema. No idea about indi stuff but I doubt it was a great year in that regard either.

Naturally, any movie critic that mentions Mahvel trash as a highlight of the year is someone only worth ignoring.
