Then you are better of not doing it at all. Why waste everybody's time when you know its going to turn out as pure crap because nobody wants to put in any effort?
When you're high school/college kids starting out, that's the best you can do.
I agree that when you're in your 30s, like the CA nobodies, you should be trying harder. Especially when that is your job.
The problem is when it comes to CA "actors" is that most of them aren't professional actors. None of Brad's close friends are actors, all of them do something else for their actual paycheck. To me it seems like Brad's friends only do the acting thing because they used to make films with him back when they were teenagers and because it was fun, they still go ahead and do it whenever he comes up with another project.

But that's the thing, they're his friends. He HAS to be nice to them, he HAS to be soft on them when they screw up, because ultimately these are his social circle, and regardless of their shit acting, he still wants to be their friends once filming is done. And because of this, he can't ever force them to do better. And I'm guessing they get paid shit and only show up to shots when it doesn't obstruct their work and social lives. Essentially they do it to hang out, have a laugh or two, and then do a little bit of "acting" in a movie.

Someone mentioned Kubrick. Kubrick forced his actors to the limit, and they hated him for it. I doubt Kubrick and his actors hung out much, but he got great performances out of them. Brad will only get better performances when he starts hiring real actors and forces them to perform for real, instead of just saying some lines and hoping they did a good enough job of it the few times they tried.

If he hired real actors they'd quit over his incompetence and Brad can't handle that, the truth is he (along a lot of internet and real life nobodies) shouldn't be allowed anywhere a camera

Again, when you're not paying people, you can't go all Kubrick on them and demand 57 takes. You've got one or two and then you just have to move on before people get impatient.
Then you are better of not doing it at all. Why waste everybody's time when you know its going to turn out as pure crap because nobody wants to put in any effort?
Because "Disco" is a quick cash grab. For whatever reason, probably cocaine, Brad decided to throw together something, anything to fleece his patreon supporters for fast money.
He's not going to be making any extra money off anyone who knows how Patreon works. Raise your pledge, get the link/download the movie, lower your pledge again. You didn't pay any extra and you got the higher tier content for free. Patreon is stupid that it doesn't stop you from doing this, but if you're aware of this, you can take advantage of it.

Say that to his fans, they'll pay for it like the paypigs they are

He may have thought of that, there are some art patreons that won't post their tutorials on the page itself at a level, they just see your payment come in and message you a link to that month's one. You want the past ones? Better pay extra. But I highly doubt Brad would pay to host a video for download, otherwise this would just be available for free, so it'll probably be posted, and in a year you'll need to go through pages and pages to find it

Why would he hire actors? Then he'd run the risk of alienating his retarded fanbase, who want nothing more than to see all their nobody heroes on screen. They forgive the fact that they can't act because they're all secretly friends with them in their mind.
Brad probably doesn't want to give up the guaranteed money of whatever meager revenue his base would already supply. So he just shuffles them on video and pays them whatever, and his patreons and autists eagerly oligate by throwing what little money they have at him.

AVGN tried putting actors in his movie and his fans immediately shat on it. They hated the random cast they'd never seen before or since ("Why is there a black guy?"), and cried and moaned about how there was no Motherfucker Mike or even Bootsey for heaven's sake.
Granted, the movie was shit anyway. But Brad and Linkey probably saw that and decided not to risk upsetting their hardcore autists by putting in anything they wouldn't immediately be familiar with.

I love how the general consensus of the AVGN movie is "it was shit but at least he made a REAL movie"

Also, unlike everyone else James realized when he was a small child that if he wanted to make an actual movie that he can't just expect his friends to take it as seriously as he does, hence why so many things he's done are just him and Mike, or even just him as seen in Cinemassacre 200.

That's what daddy Derek did in Cool Cat saves the kids.
