Odd prequels, often misunderstanding the identity of the IP but not bad.

Final Fantasy 2, the NES wanted sequels to not “feel the same” so they did those weird departures. Compare it to how Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 evolved.

SH3 was actually a good return to form. Despite being a good game if SH2 had just been a standalone title, it hadn't done his irreversible damage to the franchise.

SH2 ruined directly every single game after 3, especially after 4.

Especially once Western developers took over, every single entry needed some kind of I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Pyramid-Head.
