Jesus Christ. I don't mind WTF videos so long as they serve their function as a rather short-mid length introduction into the video game; Two hours is just too fucking long, the Plinkett reviews are like an hour and 30 and they're well-edited, well-scripted and insightful critiques that completely cover the topic. WTF is just some twat ranting while he plays a video game, wonder how many times he will repeat himself or just trail off into random thought.

I'm already hearing that he's going full contrarian. I'm guessing if ME:A wasn't hated on so much he'd gladly put the boots to it but you have to show people you're a unique, intelligent critic with snowflake opinions.

I started clicking around in the "review".

He starts off by poisoning the well "most people only hate ME:A because of the negative reception it got prior to launch"
He then goes on a long, boring pointless tangent about balancing critiques "you may feel the need to be contrarian and hate on it too much".

What a dumb "point" why should a critique need to be balanced? Oh sure, mention the good and the bad but if the game is bad then the critique focuses on the overall poor quality of the title and vice versa. It's just a centrist fallacy.

At least he accepts that he's only liking the game because of all the hate it received "the amount of hate it received might push me in either direction".

Everyone is subject to influence but a critic should at least be able to rise above most of it and deliver an impartial (not unbias) review. If you can't do that then you're a hack.

Might I add that it takes him a full 20 minutes before gameplay is shown, which relative to the videos length is actually far less than he usually does.

I rememeber when he still used to care a little bit about his shit and from time to time released videos where he promised to suck less (his words), but never actually explained what he's planning to change, just complained about some things in general and nothing ever came out of it.

No change of format, no improvements in his super basic script, no improvements in his shitty personality, only black hole of ego and insecurities remains. If he didn't have so many braindead yes men, I would almost pity him at this point.

Compared to him, Sterling is highly professional with his show, because he bothers to edit it to important parts and he actually has a script usually. Bain just has some notes on a toilet paper on him and the rest is incoherent rambling about random things that he happens to think of at the moment.

Of course it does. He loves to hear himself talking. He could get even lazier and just stream the game, then put it on youtube. I bet most of the people couldn't tell the difference, because they'll eat up almost anything he shits out.

The biggest problem is that TB embraces the meme and usually spends that first 20 minutes complaining about the options and the FoV. He's the perfect case study for why stereotypes aren't complete crap.
