I'm asking because I assume part of the reason had to due with sales and Blob is most likely virtue signalling again.

And the writer was a cunt on social media as well. Complete SJW douchebag and openly lashed out at people who didn't like it and, of course, suffered absolutely no fucking reprimand for being an unprofessional tool until now.

And in this case he got an actual boycott of the comic started. It turns out when a series has the slogan "a real American hero" going "Ayy fuck America and fuck the troops, if you didn't personally die in 9/11 you're not allowed to mourn on the anniversary" doesn't appeal to the fanbase.

Ten years later Gail Simone quit a book because Ethan Van Sciever, the artist, was a proud republican and she couldn't handle their opposing political views.

These Valiant comics were along the lines of the Archie Sanic comics, in as much as Archie Sanic was heavily based on SatAm and the Valiant Nintendo comics were pretty much comic book versions of all those DiC shows.
