Community College, unless it's a technical or a trade school, has even less standards than the nerd crowd. They would hire anyone for an indefinite "assistant" position (and kick them out after 10 years of underpaid labour without benefits).

Bob would, in a heartbeat, drop the 4K patreon gig for a chance to be with "the elite" for less money, in an environment where he would be a walking joke to his students and his peers and he could never recover the 4K patreon position (or would be double dipping and then taxachussets would rape him to death).

I don't see anything bad with him acting as a professor for a year if it means he'll humiliate himself further.
