Nocturne is the Wizardry amongst JRPGs. There are like three teenagers in the whole game (one of which being the silent protagonist and the other two making very infrequent appearances), and they have none of the typical animu dialogue.

And it's not just that the game has one of the finest turn-based combat systems around. It also has tough-as-nails dungeons and boss battles, as well as a really kickass soundtrack.

The "teenagers" in Nocturne were all transformed into demonic monsters anyway, including the main character. It doesn't have any of that social link BS either.

Atlus actually was bought by Sega when their parent company Index went bankrupt.
Dante was added as part of the Maniax re-release edition, which the English version of the game is based on. Another revision was released as a bonus with Devil Summoner 2 and replaced Dante with Raidou Kuzunoha.
