I don't think they can realistically push the roster much beyond what they had in Central Fiction. I think it's more likely the next Blazblue game will be a Xrd Sign reboot with fewer characters, if anything. Which is a shame, because my feeling with Blazblue is that it really only started to come into its own as a fighting game when they got up to around 20 characters. The current Central Fiction roster is pretty dope. A lot of the topper tier characters are also top-tier in terms of execution. I'm totally cool with Rachel and Carl being top tier because they're hard as fuck to master. One tourneyfag I remember seeing played mostly Celica, which is funny since she's considered an easymode beginner low-tier character. But he did well with her.
Overall, you see a pretty good amount of character variation in Blazblue tournaments. Izanagi was the new hotness in Central Fiction and Kokonoe was top tier in Chrono Phantasma, but even then, it wasn't like every tourneyfag was using them. Not like fucking DOUBLE and FUKUA in Skullgirls.
These days I mostly use Terumi in Blazblue because I like his design and moveset. He's almost bottom tier, but I have too much fun not to use him. Besides, I've seen Terumi players do insane shit in tourneys anyway. Other than Terumi, I use Celica and Tsubaki. Bang too.

Well, Skullgirls is dead anyway so who cares? With such important things to patch like making sure there are less upskirt frames and less tits hanging out, who's got time for balancing?

Seriously, fucking Double and Fukua in almost every goddamn fight in tourney play with Skullgirls. Pretty much every single year, every single tournament, every single player. Double vs Double mirror matches. Shit is UNwatchable.
Even people who are dedicated character specialists will have a fucking Double, Fukua or Big Band on the team to spam assists.
I just want the new Dragon Ball game... looks awesome.
KOF14, GG Rev2, and now DBZ... im ok with this generation of fighters so far.
Id wish for a new Darkstalkers... but knowing capcom i know they are going to make it shit... so id rather just play Dskrs3 instead.
...now, if only Hudson made a new Bloody Roar.

Seriously, you've got to wonder what's wrong with Capcucks to be all doom and gloom about the current fighting game scene. We've got more actually good games being actively played than we ever had outside of an arcade.

Exactly. Plenty of good fighters right now and even back then. Capcucks just judge the scene based on crapcom games only.

The worst of them are the ones spouting right now how you have to get MvC:I no matter how good it is because you're supposedly not supporting the FGC if you don't. I'm not kidding and it's not a seldom thing to read right now either. People are crazy.
How about we support the good games and get a EVO without spots filled with shit games for once? This year's one in a couple of weeks has Duty Fighter V, Mahvul and It'sjustAss 2. I could really do without shit like that.

Because anime. But you're not supposed to be paying attention to that. You're supposed to be paying attention to Fame96 absolutely raping with this character that has been designated low-tier. Fame has gone up against the absolute best Blazblue players in the country and guess what character he uses? Terumi. I'm not aware of any other game where tourney players playing at the very tip top levels will STILL play and win with low-tier characters. They're not playing against scrubs either.
