SNK games made without ex-Capcom/Irem members are sorta kinda totally meh, aren't they.

Pre-Neo Geo is often bad, early Neo Geo is as well. There are gems here and there but for the most part the good series had to find their own identity first.

Are we considering PS-1 / N64 games "retro" yet?

I guess. They aren't current. Would be silly to make a thread for that middle generation.

How can systems over twenty years old NOT be retro?

Now lets all talk only about Dreamcast, the best system ever, and collectively hope for a sneaky DC 2 announcement from Sega. That Sonic stuff ain't working out.

The Crash Bandicoot remake is going to be the highest selling PS4 game when it comes out. 90s nostalgia is everywhere and normies on Facebook are hyped as fuck about it. I'm talking "I only play FIFA and Call of Duty" level of normie here who only got a PS4 for those games.

You tell when something is retro when the prices get retarded for games. That is happening with that era, Rayman 2 last time I checked was going for 50 aussie bucks on Ebay, meanwhile the PS2 version which looks better and has more content with better sound was only 10 bucks when I got it.

Fuck me I just checked Ebay for Spyro and that shit is going for $AUD60 over here. Glad I got the Spyro games physically when they were under 30.

I was about to say they have got better, but I did a quick check since I haven't bough console games in a while and it's back up to what it was. Towards the end of last gen it got better since everyone was buying games online, but with our dollar dropping down a bit in the last few years they are where they used to be, around $100AUD full price which is about $75USD. A retailer called JB HiFi here usually sells new games for $89, which is $67USD which is about right since those yanks have a bullshit sales tax that isn't included into the price. When our dollar was on par with the Yanky Dollar, we were literally paying double.

But still, Spyro doubling in price is bullshit.

As highly unlikely as this is (as in "will never happen"), no longer having Project Diva on a Sony console might seriously hurt their sales
