I did some research on another site earlier out of morbid curiosity . It's 15 episodes and divided in two halves called "Chapters" and the over aching plots is a Klingon that want to unify the 24 great houses which lead to a Cold War with the Federation.

Oh remember the Black cunt? Guess who the foster dad is? It's Spock dad! Holy shit refer to the first page as to why this is absolutely retarded. Oh but "her backstory totally break Canon guys!"
FUCK YOU, SPOCK NEVER MENTIONED A SISTER AND SAREK LOOKS DOWN ON HUMAN FOR DECADES AFTER THIS HAPPEN!

Fuck it i don't give a fuck if you call me autistic for this, this is high grade Bullshit!

Yeah, the whole show is retarded. I'm going to be watching The Orville for my Star Trek fix.
The rumor/conspiracy theory going around is that Paramount/CBS is paying reviewers to praise STD and trash The Orville.
It sounds pretty ridiculous, but I've never seen such a disparity between the Tomatometer score and the audience score:

I'll pass Seth MacFarlane's brand of humour. Didn't hear about those rumors, but using the difference between the tomatometer and audience score is a shitty way to estimate anything (though I believe, that design is intentionally confusing) . Firstly compare the population in both scores, critics are 1 to 30 to regular users, which makes sense of course but when You have more people the scores will be more sparse and it would be easier to find the mean; Secondly critics and users have different scales, add to that that the freshness isn't computed from scores that critics gave [they individually have different scales as well, some use 1-5, others use 1-10, grade system, % system], but from a good/bad binary decision , whereas the user's score is % of people who gave it 3.5 or more.

Smells like there's some fuckery afoot at RT. Wouldn't be the first time they have weird discrepancies.

I guess she's the reason he hates humans so much.

I understand. I just find it hilarious that CBS/Paramount went to all these extreme efforts to stamp out fanfilms like Axanar and then Seth MacFarlane essentially makes his own Star Trek fanfilm and airs it on broadcast TV for profit. That's some high-tier trolling if you ask me.

I watched the first two episodes of The Orville and it was fine. I know that sounds vague, but it's a perfectly adequate Star Trek homage with some Seth MacFarlane jokes sprinkled in. I don't think he'll gain any new fans as a result of the show, but if you're already a fan of Star Trek or MacFarlane, you'll probably like it.

What if you like Star Trek but not MacFarlane?

Watch OG Trek. It's funnier anyway.
