She has a point. SJWs are pretty sexist and racist, and a bit cis- and heterophobic.

As we've seen more than once, the ones doing the killing tend to be left-winger Bernie Sanders supporters.'Death Wish shouldn't promote such behavior. In real life, a delusional racist with a gun might believe they're a heroic vigilante.' said another user.
Anyway, Death Wish was remade in 2007 already: Death Sentence with Kevin Bacon. It even had the same scene where he buys a guy like a newbie and has to learn how to use it.

Death Wish has been remaded so many times and just given a new name. How many real life vigilanties have these films spawned again?
Re: Death Wish Trailer. Racist?
None, but they were bitching about Dirty Harry back in '71. Years change, but the SJW never do.
Death Sentence was the only official remake of Death Wish that I know of, though. It's like what EA is doing naming the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 and pretending there wasn't an entire series before it.

I knew a hardcore SJW professor who loved dirty harry. He taught a class using that movie.
That first film is really amazing. You can interpret it however you like, but Harry walks the line between obeying the law vs doing what everyone knows is "right" but isn't legal. It's hard to sympathize with a psycho serial killer's legal rights. We're either put in the place of agreeing with extralegal violence (which most people do but won't admit) or supporting the legal rights of pedos, rapists and depraved murderers.
Harry's policy of hating all races equally was also a novel take on race relations, and very politically-incorrect. The way he builds a relationship with his hispanic partner was very interesting. It feels like a real relationship, like the parts where Harry assumes the guy was a diversity hire, and then he sees the dude trying to educate himself and wonders WTF some educated young couple is doing trying to be a cop on the dirty streets... It's a good movie.

Besides Cronenberg's Fly and Carpenter's The Thing I can't think of any. De Palma's Scarface? Not really a remake IMO. The Departed? Infernal Affairs is superior on every level.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2017 3:29 amNot always. I can think of at least four good remakes. They're probably the only four good remakes, but whatever

I don't think a newer adaptation of a book can be called a remake of an earlier adaptation, especially if the older one took more liberties with the source material.
