No it was because he reduced her to "WAAH i choose sterilization, i can't have kids" and that awful romance in Avengers 2. Avengers 2 had a lot of shitty scenes but that shit was so much shoved in the viewers face from nowhere that those where easily the fucking worst

Thank You Joss Whedon, everytime I will hear people say: "Virtue signalling is not a real thing, do You can not believe people can just be compassionate and selflessly put others before themselves" I can point out to You.

Yeah it was the monster line that made people reevaluate the character, though I kind off thought the relationship with her and the Hulk was uncovering her more feminine/maternal side that she thought she was lacking and if the writer was more capable, it could be expanded on. The romantic subplot with Banner and Natasha though was so tack on that it invalidated every attempt.

The Avengers was bad. Avengers 2 was legit one of the worst movies I've ever seen, right up there with Bayformers and other shit that's bad without being "so bad it's good."

Thor 2 was fucking awful.

Captain America 2 is the only capeshit movie of the last few years I liked. It was ok.

Guardians of the Galaxy was mediocre or bad depending on your tastes.

Iron Man 2 was shit.

I can't remember if I saw any others that were made after the Iron Man 1 fame blowup.

Man of Steel is a landmark in shitty movies. Worse than Avengers? Hard to say. Probably as bad.

For as much as Dark Knight Rises got shit on, it's way more entertaining than any of the Mahvul cinematic universe movies that came after it. AT LEAST IT HAS MEMES

There are generally very few good superhero movies. It's just that for some reason the successes of The Dark Knight and Iron Man made Hollywood push them even more. It's exactly what they do with comic books except that the films actually have an audience so it doesn't fail as badly as it should.

Superhero shit only really works in animation anyway.
