Wrestling was always autistic though. I was reading in Rob Halford's book how his family went to a wrestling match once and his mom, an otherwise normal person, turned into a complete retard when the heels would cheat. Jake “The Snake” Roberts called it “masturbating the emotions,” which in my opinion is just another way of saying weaponizing autism. Normies gobbled up the MCU for a decade too.Poonoo wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 5:31 amThis is the main reason Wrestling will never have a boom period, even though AEW doing well and the indies rising (before Covid) was still good overall for Wrestling, in particular the wrestlers themselves. It has turned into a nerd hobby now when before plenty of normies liked it, Jim Cornette was right when he said the people who watch MMA now are the people who would have watched Wrestling in the 80s.
HHH, I give him credit for turning NXT hot but man, he's damn near close to Hulk Hogan when it comes to unnecessary burials. He really should have known better at that point. Funny you mention Taker. Taker hated Punk and I wonder if he didn't he would have at least pulled him aside and told him to do the right thing.
I don't know if wrestling will have a boom period again, but I remember seeing fucking Rolling Stone talk about the year in wrestling in the past few years, you had to wonder if it was getting close.

Fair point, but again, Savage wasn't doing high spot hardcore dangerous matches for most of his prime. Hell the only high spot he ever did was the elbow.
