It happens I guess. Even Pretty Cure had a spin-off like that. Though that's still less creepy than showing up in crossover movies for decades without even aging a year.

I think it would make a funny manga or anime. What happens 20 years after the big romance and wacky adventure are over. The main couple have a shitty zoomer kid totally unappreciative of them repeatedly saving the world.
