The new Netflix Devilman was pretty damn great for a modern anime, and is probably the best adaptation of the manga that we're ever going to get. The '70s TV series was very toned down and kiddified, and the 80s OVA series seemed very promising, but was never completed and only had two episodes.

Violence Jack is great. Don't listen to Bennet the Sage.
And as (almost) always, the original manga for these series are better than the anime.

That's always the case, but sadly with older manga, we often don't get a proper translation. So I'm sure there are scans out there, but I do like to read physical books if I can.

I was surprised how much better Hokuto no Ken's manga was than the anime. The anime is all we whito piggus got, but the scans are fantastic.

Guyver is another mango everyone should read. It's fucking rad. I'll check out violence jack once I get bored of wan piss. I'll probably stop with one piss once I get to the time skip. The post timeskip designs look like shit.

Violence Jack has some volumes scanned but it's a fucking massive series, it's arguably Nagai's magnum opus.
They tried multiple times to bring the Hokuto no Ken manga over but it never worked out, Viz gave up and Raijin Comics went boom. Raijin made special full color versions of the first ten volumes + two volumes of Souten no Ken. They're hard to get and they've never been scanned anywhere AFAIK. I remember seeing on ebay that theres reverse imported versions of the full color edition in Japanese.

The time skip did some weird stuff to Frankie tbh.

A lot of the designs look fucking terrible:

Luffy has a big dumb scar.
Nami is dressed like a beach slut for some reason.
Robin looks like a Hawaiian prostitute. How did we go from Miss All-Sunday to this?
Sanji barely changed at all which is fine.
Zoro looks ok I guess, but the bathrobe looks bad compared to his old outfit.
Chopper's proportions have changed completely for no raisin. He now has a giant fucking head.
Franky looks like a different character, GG.
Brook is barely different, but it doesn't matter because he was in the cast for a very short time before the skip.
Usopp is buff for some reason.

Nami, Franky, Chopper and Robin were all ruined. Usopp was borderline ruined by being another generic shirtless fucker in a series full of them.

The only character improved by the timeskip in terms of design was Tashigi.
