Eh, just want people to give their series-tips to other people.

Hah! Even muttering TRU---- will get you labelled a Nazi nowadays.

I should really watch more mini-series. I like them not short, but not long.
Just messin' with you guy. No foul.

If you really want a bizarre series, watch The Bridge. It's got hot German chick Diane Kruger but she plays a fucking aspie who spents most of the runtime lecturing the families of murder victims about the rights of illegal Mexicans..

Kugel, I know well the difference between Nazis and Wehrmacht, I find it laughable when some people believe all Germans were Nazis during that time. That's why I said "German soldiers" and not "Nazis". Portraying Nazis as good guys might even be against the censorship laws of Germany.

But what I don't know is what kind of political climate ruled over the German entertainment industry during the 80s. Did production companies shun any kind of German WWII success stories. How receiving the German audience was for movies like this.

I love Das Boot but I have always found that ending rather jarring. Even with all politics aside, that final "twist" feels dramaturgically a bizarre conclusion, like some reverse deus ex machina. That's why I have pondered was that compulsorily added there.

Now come to think of it, on the other hand the ending could be seen as men going through hell all for nothing, all the heroic deeds and struggles in a war that could not be won. In other words the ending is quite poetic.
When passing through the Valley of Humiliation, slaves and dastards, exposing their sores, sob aloud for consolation and sympathy.

Well, I was born in 86 so I can't tell you what the climate was back then. But I do know that there are loads upon loads of war movies from then and much, much earlier. My father loves to watch those. I have yet to see one that portrais the Germans as the bad guys in general. But the theme is never happy feel good success story. That's some burger kinda stuff. German movies are way muted in tone in general.

Depends on whether you mean a LITERAL NAZI, someone like von Stauffenberg who went "Fuck you, guys!", or some bloke who just joined the NSDAP because you kinda had to for certain jobs (like Oskar Schindler).

Nevermind Schindler, if you were the boss of a big enough company you better were in the NSDAP or you will have been the boss for the longest time.
Stauffenberg didn't like how things were ran but he was a full-on National Socialist.

The difference is the SS were the political soldiers aka true believers. Normal soldiers were just fucking dudes.

Even a lot of the SS brahs probably didn't know most of the shit with jews and war crimes.
Yeah it was done in secret.

I don't know whats worse, it seems Germany can't take a break.

The british made-for-tv movie called "conspiracy" is quite good. It's all about the Wannsee Conference. I'm probably spelling that shit wrong.

Everyone knew we were exterminating Jews. Nobody gave the slightest of fucks about it. Neither in Germany, nor outside.

I've watched some episodes of Into the Badlands.

Post-apocalyptic asian fighting samurai/ninja thing.

I kinda enjoy it xD

Anyone seen "The Expanse"?
