The only people who lose out are the gambling and betting industry. They're the only ones powerful enough to control the NFL and most major sports, which is why you won't see them truly ever go away. But if the sponsors and viewers take a nose dive, sports books will start promote soccer and other stuff to inject the action there.

If the golden knights stay this good next season you might see a lot of action shifting toward hockey too. With its 82 game season and retarded parity (the best player is currently playing for a team in the bottom 5 out of 31) the books would love it to be popular.
