Movie Thread
Re: Movie Thread
I wouldn't call TCM 2 a guilty pleasure, the comedy in that movie is 100% intentional. On a good day I would say TCM 3 is okay. Although Ken Foree carries it, without him it would be total shit. It's a real shame Foree didn't get many big roles after George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead.
I've only seen the original Hellraiser but almost everyone says the series became a total trainwreck after 3. Let me know if what I've heard is true.

Hellraiser 1 is an amazing movie. Never saw the others though. I went through a bunch of horror movies not too long ago and Hellraiser stood head and shoulders above the rest, aside from the original Halloween.

I think Hellraiser2 has its moments as well, but I've only ever watched the first one and the IN SPAAAACE! one.

I'd say Viggo Mortensen is also a huge reason why TCM 3 is worth watching. And yeah, TCM 2 is basically the Evil Dead 2 to the original. It kicks ass.

You're going to have a much better time with that series than TCM. Unlike most horror series, Hellraiser is mostly good or at least really entertaining. I only remember one of them being actually terrible.

The new War for the Planet of the Apes was fun, not perfect (some parts in the work camp were unnecessary)

Love Exposure
Ahhhh that hit the spot, I needed this. It's good to wash your brain with some classy Japanese craziness after swimming too long in the sea of PC lollywood crap. The gigantic length of this film kept me from watching it for a long time but now that I finally watched it, it was well worth the time, quite spiritual journey really. Director/writer Sion Sono delievers like Takashi Miike at his prime, very unique experience, funny, depressing, touching, crazy, deep, wasn't bored for a second. This felt actually like some mad combination of Miike, Jodorowsky and Bergman. Great soundtrack also, one particular scene combined Beethoven and Biblical quotes, that was profound even for a non-believer. This is the shit. On my way to look for more Sono films.
