Well yes, you'll never see those again because most politicians, especially high profile politicians and heads of state, are protected by a wall of secret service/armed professional bodyguards. You need some Day of the Jackal type shit, you can't just walk up to them and shoot them.

They are very afraid, yet not afraid enough.

What reduced the number of assassination of the upper echelon of power?

A) Making it harder to get weapons legally
B) Being paranoid/careful af because the filthy peasants are not to be trusted

That is correct. They will even evacuate entire blocks.

Not afraid enough is a good way to put it, after all the bullshit of the last twenty years.

So both the left and right agree that the police on the scene sucked a big fat dick. They didn't move fast enough. They stood around outside the school for too long. They could have saved lives, but didn't. Heads need to roll.

However, the interepretation of this is different on both sides.

The left: "The police department's poor handling of this is just more proof that we need to ban guns! The security methods don't work, The discussion about decreasing the number of entry points is just a distraction from the real issue. No one should own an AR-15. Joe Biden is right!"

The right: "The police department's poor handling of this is just more proof that we need guns! We can't count on the police to help when some shit goes down."

The latter is correct. Pay attention that those things only happen on gun-free grounds or in states with less armed civilians.
Just about any other place in Texas would've ended in a civilian shooting him.

Apparently the shooter shot up the school with like $8000 of equipment. The kid flipped burgers at Burger King part time. Where did he get the money for all that shit?
