They banned dodgeball? Ha! It's called Völkerball over here and it's pretty much the go to "Well I dunno, play Völkerball, I guess" thing when the teacher doesn't want to do something coaching-intensive or has a hangover or something.

At least over here in the midwest they banned it. I think I was... I want to say 9 or 10 years old? So around mid-1999 to early-2000 was when it happened.

We played Dodgeball all the time and then one day our PE coach was like, "not allowed to play it any more. Too violent. So instead we're gonna play speedball where you have to hit the runner with the ball to get them out to get around that rule."

Did I mention how much I loved the PE coach I had when I was in school? I was in the same school system from 4th grade through senior year and the coach I had moved to the middle and high schools I was in every time I happened to move up. It was great. Dude bent the rules whenever he could because he knew better.

Seriously, why the FUCK isn't that a thing anymore? Did you know the Romans had battleship arenas? Fucking battleships! It makes me furious how cunts talk about how progressive le current year was when we, as a society, have only degraded.

Not just dedicated battleship arenas. Multi-purpose arenas that could be filled with water if need be. It's amazing what they could built back in the day.

I am seriously pissed about that. I can dine better than a king, live in a house better than any castle and am likely to live longer thanks to not dyeing to crap that was lethal back then but today is benign. And yet the best we get is MMA and wrastlin?
Of all the fucking predictions about the future in movies from the 80s, it's the ultraviolence that doesn't come true that hurts me the most. Not only hasn't society not become desensitized enough to watch people murder the shit out of each other for fun, people became more sensitive in the most retarded way. Somebody help me escape from this Berenstain universe!
