I have mixed opinions on it. I mean, sure, running it might be morally wrong by the police, however, now they can catch paedophiles.
If the site is gone, they'd just move to another site.
Also VG sucks balls have their coverage of Trump is 99% negative (that's not even an exaggeration).

Nah, found the article while lurking /tech/ on 8chan. I don't follow the news too often, so I wasn't aware about the quality of VG's news.

I can get the article to load, but I highly disapprove of this. I think it's disgusting that the cops hoard child porn just so they can entrap a few creeps. They've even caught cops that take this stuff home.
Law enforcement needs to be SHUTTING DOWN and DESTROYING all these sites and images. Prosecute the owners of these websites to the fullest extent of the law.

It is. I've never liked these kind of tactics.
I remember back when I was on AOL, I was CONSTANTLY bombarded with local jailbait teens IMing me. They wanted to know all about me and hang out. There was absolutely nothing on my AOL profile that should attract girls. Very dry and somewhat nerdy profile.
I am convinced that most of these "girls" were actually police officers trying to lure and entrap me. I talked to other AOL members and they had similar experiences. Then suddenly, it stopped. Like it was some government operation that got shut down.
I don't mind punishing the real perverts, but I don't like that they're trying to create new ones.

I remember when the feds were uploading intentionally misleading honeypots on peer-to-peer programs about a decade or so.

Oh no, definitely not. I'm not saying it's a good thing they're taking them out using the methods they are I'm just saying it's good they're taking them out.
I'd 100% prefer they catch them in a legitimate situation and not a manufactured one designed to find them. This is the same problem I had with those, "to catch a predator," type shows and documentaries and whatnot. I'm barely okay with undercover cops selling drugs to people to catch them in the act.

There are legit pedos that rape children. Arrest those guys and lock them up forever. Instead, they go to jail for a few years and then they let them out in our communities. They then tell us where the pedos are, but we can't take any action against them or we go to jail. Such a stupid revolving door system.
