See, i always thought of the federation as the sjws of the future, like some secret dystopian state where all "poverty" and "war" are over even though they get into border fights with the klingons, romulans, and cardassians like every god damn day.

The only pictre I get from the federation is that it isn't quite the post-scarcity paradise some people make it out to be. I can't really recall anyone getting shit for being too problematic. The only real parts of their ideology are "Don't fuck with pre-warp civilizations" and "Let's try to not be in wars and shit".
