AAA gaming cunt reporting to duty your faggotness! How can I be of assistance?Kugelfisch wrote:Ask Sickfuck when he comes around making an account here.
Well, better get to work, I see that I have many things to sperge about to bitter middle aged men who won't be willing to listen to me and will try to convince me of my shit tastes.
I'm not blind to issues coming from AAA - mainly the oversimplification of certain things - and I'm concerned of what's coming next, because AAA isn't just going away any time soon. I'm just not willing to throw a game under a bus if it has problems - only in multiplayer I care 100% about gameplay. If I think a game is shit, I have good reasons for it, because I feel like I would be a bigger idiot calling something I've been playing for 100 hours a shit.
Regarding GTA, I think San Andreas is still the best, it has really entertaining and satisfying characters, story, presentation and gameplay - so many fun things to do! Except flying - it took me about 3 weeks to finally come back and finish these god damn flying missions so I could progress further. Last GTA to have a boss fight as well, which is a shame. You can have more realistic settings while keeping some of the gameplay more unrestricted.
GTA V is second best for me, I liked many things about it, a lot of polish and attention to detail. I've hated Franklin and pretty much everything around him, especially that dumb monkey Lamar, who keeps getting saved by Franklin and never shows even a sign of respect. What's the point of trying to tell a more serious story if you insist on keeping "comical" characters who will act like they're from a different game?
I didn't like Trevor too much either, because some of his antics didn't fit into the more realistic plot they were trying to show, when you look at him, it's the character that screams "videogame", the problem is that the rest of the plot tries to be more like a crime movie. And I've actually liked Michael the most, simply because his "arch" has most polish and at least makes sense - you don't have to like the characters, I get it, sometimes a character just comes off as a irredeemable cunt to me and I don't care about them, but it didn't happen here. Trevor is just a maniac that should've been dead ten times over and feels like he has very little restriction, which fits badly with the story, and Franklin is just a nigga who will happily bend over to everyone for no reason. He is by far the blandest character in the whole game - his universal reaction to everything is "yeah whatever dog, I need to make some paper".
Oh, and I hate how they made Lester a complete moron in GTA Online. Fuck GTA Online in general - what kind of a degenerate do you have to be to spend money on microtransactions on something so disfunctional?
As for GTA 4, I believe plenty of people didn't like it too much and I remember hearing lots of negative things about it after it's PC release, but that also covered the shitty port they had. I think it's a good game, the more serious tone didn't hurt it too much, I liked Niko (at least compared to Franklin, he isn't little bitch and doesn't let everyone get his way with him) and Roman, and I think the heist mission is still one of the most entertaining ones in the whole GTA series. And the expansion pack was great - Ballad of Gay Tony is better than the original game itself. Lost and Damned, on the other hand, felt really shitty. I remember not liking the driving as well, in GTA V it feels much better and stable. Still, I'll take driving in GTA 4 over Mafia 2 any time.
